Remember Me

Remember me;
I am your father, your mother,
Your sister your brother,
I am your son and your daughter.
I am you.

I ask you not
To take vengeance in my name.
Retribution is a sword,
Much too deep and wide
To be just.

I urge justice.
Act in wisdom and
In compassion.
To do different would
Make us as they are.

As I am sure a lot of people are aware, London has sufferred a tragedy. For which we all grieve. It's been an emotional day for me and my wife. Along with the rest of our loved ones worried that we might have been injured or killed.

My deepest condolences to those who have been effected by this event. I hope you can appreciate the spirit with which it was written

That is a wonderful statement of true humanity -- "to do different would make us as they are" is truth in it's very essense.

I'm glad to hear that you and your love are okay . . . I was worried about you:hug:

Thank you for your kind words and your warm concern. I am glad to know there are people out there that were concerned for my safety. Sometimes, it is things like this that make us realise how rich we really are.

And it's things like this that make us realize we take those riches for granted too often.

Woah... this is what I get for not keeping up with the news often... -_- That's a beautiful poem, and I am SO sorry for what happened. That's awful. But I think your poem does convey it quite well. Excellent work.

thank you very much. I was trying to convey how I can't believe that those who have died in this tragedy or other tragedies like 9/11 want our governments going out and conquering other governments all in their names under the guise of the 'war on terror'.

There can be no justice in vengence, vengence is taken in anger, true justice is metered out in compassion and reason.
:iconunicornphantom:
Lol, yeah, that's true... Plus they're not really going after the real problem anyway... I mean... the people doing this stuff... they clearly need help. And yeah, I'm not really one for revenge myself, except in very rare cases. But I think you conveyed what you wanted very well, and you're a very talented poet. ^_^
